Pete the Cat

Do you know Pete the Cat? Well if you have a toddler or preschooler in your life you need to know about Pete the Cat. Julia's teacher read it to them at school. I have never seen a child so excited about something they did at school as she is about Pete the Cat. So of course we had to buy Pete the Cat. It is a hysterical book written by Eric Litwin and James Dean. Here is a song and story download if you are interested. She can read the whole book (well not literally) but she thinks she is.

The best part about Pete the Cat is that it has a moral. I ask Julia"What's the moral of Pete the Cat" and with much excitement in her cute voice will answer "ITS ALL GOOD!" Get Pete the Cat, you will not regret it.

Our new Cousin "Moote"

Angela and Jeff went out on a date and asked if we could keep Julia. So Julia and I invited our new cousin, Moote, to come play with us. We started out at Jump Zone. There was two children, Julia and Moote, and six adults. Yes, I jumped in the Sesame Street Bounce House with Julia and no I do not have a picture.
During our jump experience their fire alarm went off. We had to go outside for awhile so we read. When we could not jump any longer we went to the park. Valerie, Renee and Chris joined us. We played on the playground and walked around the Grapevine Botanical Gardens. It was a beautiful day. I am just sorry I did not get a group picture.

365 Days of Grandchildren

It was exactly one year ago that I started this blog. I wanted to document Julia and my time together so I bought a notebook and tried to journal. I did a great job the first two weeks she was born (if you want to read it I have it stuffed in a drawer somewhere) then for the next two years nothing. Then I somehow, can't remember how, ran across the blog world and exactly one year ago I posted my first entry. Read here. Luckily she no longer calls me MeeMaw. Today we are playing Cinderella and I was the Fairy Godmother. But mostly she just calls me Grandma.
I love the memories I will always have of this past year through this blog. Now I want to figure out how to turn it into a photo book. I am looking forward to the excitement of the next year and now we can include Valerie in all the fun.

Happy Birthday Girls!!

The girls both have birthdays in April. We laughed at Renee because this is her real 29th birthday. We celebrated both birthday's along with Jeff's at Joe T. Garcia's in Forth Worth. The weather was beautiful, the grandbabies were precious and I counted my blessings. David and I are both blessed with this precious gift from God.

Cinderella Cinderella lalalala Cinderella

Julia and I went to see Cinderella at Casa Manana on Saturday. When I got to her house to pick her up, Angela was getting her ready. While Angela and I were talking, Julia disappeared then came back into the living room and announced she was ready. She had on her big fuzzy hat, her noculars (binoculars), her kackpack (as she calls it), and her monica (harmonica). Angela and I were cracking up and she just looked at us like whats so funny. When we arrived at the theater I was able to talk her out of bringing in all the other theater attire but she had to bring her book with her.
Waiting for the show was quite boring but once it started she was so excited. We had great seats but she still spent most of the show on her feet mesmerized.
This is our third show to see at Casa. I took her to her first show when she was only 1 years old. We are going to get season tickets next year and hopefully bring Valerie with us at least once.

Bunny Cake

Julia and I had the day off together today. We decided to make a bunny cake. It was very messy but she had so much fun making it. I made this bunny cake with Angela and Renee when they were little. It is such a memory to be making it with with Julia.
After making our Bunny Cake we went to Safari Park with Susan and Cayson. My battery died in my camera and this is the only picture I got.
The golf club is as tall as she is. But she was a very serious golfer.
