How Precious is This

I walked into the living room only to find Julia up in the chair with one of her favorite books reading. She had a puppet sitting next to her. I guess she was reading to him.

Swimming Fun

Julia and I did a lot of swimming last week. Every day after nap she immediately starts saying, "more swimming." The Knudson's and the Kerr's came over to swim with us but I forgot to take a picture. OOPS! I love her independence. If I turn that hose on she has to be in charge of it. This particular time she was actually getting the water where it is suppose to be, in the pool. Don't let the little pool fool you, she coaxed me into the big pool plenty.

Fashion Faux Pau

I picked up Julia from Jeff on Monday morning and we headed off to the zoo. We were at the zoo enjoying our selves for about an hour before I noticed Julia had on two different shoes. Jeff dressed her but I was with her a long time before I noticed. I just hope Angela does not band me from the village. We all got a good laugh. At least I think Angela was laughing after she finished being upset that her daughter was out in public with two different shoes on. They were at least both pink. We are headed back to the zoo tomorrow morning. This time we are taking paw paw with us so that he can supervise our attire.

Princess Valerie

Princess Valerie was 6 weeks old yesterday. Is that a bow I see on her head? Renee is learning to never say "never".

We are C O U S I N S!

Julia loves her new baby cousin Valerie. She was so excited to get to hold her. She sang Rock-a-bye-Baby to her. Valerie was totally impressed.

Brianna's Graduation

David, Mom, Dad, Kristin and I flew out to California for my niece, Brianna's graduation. We had a great visit. We went to the Santa Monica Pier, downtown Los Angeles and also enjoyed all the graduation festivities. It was great to see my niece Brianna, two nephews Kyle (9) and Ethan (6). We do not get to see them enough. It is so hard when family lives so far away.

Baby Valerie is 5 weeks old!!!

Baby Valerie is 5 weeks old today. I got to spend the whole day with her and Renee. She mostly just does the typically baby things like eat and sleep. I got to give her a bath. She loves her baths. We rocked and sang lullabies. She is definitely a keeper!

I Love No Summer School

For the first time in 19 years, I am not teaching summer school. I am keeping Julia during the day while her parents are at work and I am loving on Baby Valerie when I am lucky enough to steal a few minutes with her and Renee. Julia and I had a great week. Top priority this week was potty training, which went very well. We went to music class, gym class, storytime at the library, swimming, walks in the wagon and enjoyed the summer days. She is so much fun. I love the way she says "hold you" when she wants you to pick her up.

Oh yea I forgot, eating ice cream and watering plants in our undies.

First Day of Summer

Julia and I went to the Fort Worth Zoo when I picked her up on Friday, the start of our summer fun. She loves the zoo. She mimics every animal and knows exactly what she wants to see. We went today with a visit to the Penguin House in mind. She watched and observed everything they were doing. We even practiced walking like a penguin. I spent most of my time lost. I need to get a map and learn my way around that place. When it was time to go we were way in the back of the zoo. I asked her if she wanted to ride the train and she replied with "all aboard."
