Nurse Julia

Julia and I played Nurse and Hospital all week. It all started with us reading the book Nurse Nancy. We bought a medical kit and made the outfit and hat. We had band aids, medication (cheerios) and a cell phone for the ambulance to call. We set up a hospital with the babies and baby bed and the shopping cart was the ambulance. Everyday when she goes home, I have to get all the band aides off all the furniture.
Who knows what she will think of next?

Pinkalicious was Pinkatastic

Today we went to see the play Pinkalicious by Ohlook Performing Arts. Lily, Julia's cousin came with us. The girls loved it.

Julia met the main character Pinkalicious and had her book signed by her. Julia said her favorite part was the pink hair. She loved having her Aunt Jamie, Lily and Mimi with us.

July at the Splashpad

Today we went to a neighborhood splashpad located in Roanoke where my sister, Elizabeth lives. Elizabeth, Lauren, and Moote joined Julia, Valerie and me. Valerie, Moote and Julia were all over the place. I had a hard time getting them to sit still for a picture. This is the best I could do.
Julia and Valerie love their Lauren.
Julia's favorite thing today was squirting me with the alligator gun located behind her.

Valerie just loved it all. In this picture she is sitting watching buckets fill up with water and then spill out.
We loved spending time with Moote while he was here visiting with Elizabeth. He calls her Ya which is the Thai word for grandma.

Swimming with Lily and Cooper

Julia's cousins, Lily and Cooper, came over to go swimming with us today. It was so much fun to watch them play together. Lily is a little fish and Julia loves to be just like Lily. We now have to buy strawberry ice cream because it is Lily's favorite.

Giggle Giggle Quack

Today Angela, Julia and I went to the Dallas Childrens Theater to see Giggle Giggle Quack. Farmer Brown, Hen, Pig, Cow and Duck were very entertaining. In Julia's words "Duck was trouble." It was really good. Jillian Montemayor was there with her Mom and Nanna. We all sat together and had a great time.

Zoo with Cayson

Julia and I went to the Fort Worth Zoo today with Cayson and Susan.
Julia was really surprised when the birds were very friendly and landed right on her stick.

Cousins and Their Family

There are 5 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren on the Butts' side of our family. This is a very rare occurance that they are all together at the same time. It was Kate's birthday and Kanna had us all over. Thanks Kate for having us over to your birthday. Uncle David and I enjoyed seeing all the children together.

Golfing with Pawpaw

On the last day of David's week off he got to go golfing with Julia. We went to Safari Park in Southlake. There are so many things for her to do there, she could stay forever. Expert after only one lesson.
Sliding into the ball pit.
Conductor of the train.
Check it out. It is a great place.

Cousins Come Swimming

My niece, Kanna, was up from Lubbock this weekend. Julia and I lucky enough to have her three children come over to play. Here with Julia is Kate and Emily. They would be my great-nieces and second cousins to Julia. I do not think I want great attached to anything involving me but if I have to at least it is to these precious precious children. Grant her son was also here but he was inside watching a movie at this time while we swam. It started raining as we were swimming and they got to swim in the rain. They thought that was really cool. All cleaned up and ready for "What's Next." Julia thought it was great fun that they all came over to play with her. They played dolls, soccer and play dough. I think these are the most beautiful smiles.
Thanks for coming over Grant, Emily and Kate.

Preschool Gym

We went to Preschool Gym at the Grapevine Rec Center. Every Thursday morning they set up one whole gym with a bounce house and all kinds of equipment that a preschool age child would love to play with. We got there early enough that Julia had the whole bounce house to herself. She loved that. Valerie was with us this week and she was all over the place. She immediately figured out she could crawl through the block tunnel.
Julia ran into a little friend from school at ECDC and they squealed with excitement to see each other.
Julia always wants to get the ball in the basketball basket. Of course it is way to high. But they have a really cool set up where there are different levels. She has been trying for weeks to get it in the second hole and today she had success.
I could not get Valerie off this little sit and spin. She would not take my help. She worked and worked until she figured out how to make it work.
I love these days so much. I am the luckiest grandma ever.

Burgers Lake

We went to Burgers Lake today. If you have not been you need to check it out. It was so much fun. The water was clean and clear. The sand was beautiful. It was a great family day.
Our newest little swimmer without her floaties. She has gotten so brave and loves being in the water.
Here is our little Fourth of July baby. She is just barely walking so she struggled to get around but she did great.
Here is Angela with 3 year old Julia. Angela planned our day. She remembered everything all the way down to floats and sand toys.

Here is Renee with 14 month old Valerie.

Julia and Valerie loved playing in the sand. It was like a trip to the beach but close to home.

There are a lot of waterfalls, slides, diving boards and even a trapeze. Here Julia got brave enough to let her Dad, Jeff, take her under the waterfall.

Valerie liked her little eating set up we brought for her. She is the sweetest baby.
