Cousins Come Swimming

My niece, Kanna, was up from Lubbock this weekend. Julia and I lucky enough to have her three children come over to play. Here with Julia is Kate and Emily. They would be my great-nieces and second cousins to Julia. I do not think I want great attached to anything involving me but if I have to at least it is to these precious precious children. Grant her son was also here but he was inside watching a movie at this time while we swam. It started raining as we were swimming and they got to swim in the rain. They thought that was really cool. All cleaned up and ready for "What's Next." Julia thought it was great fun that they all came over to play with her. They played dolls, soccer and play dough. I think these are the most beautiful smiles.
Thanks for coming over Grant, Emily and Kate.

Preschool Gym

We went to Preschool Gym at the Grapevine Rec Center. Every Thursday morning they set up one whole gym with a bounce house and all kinds of equipment that a preschool age child would love to play with. We got there early enough that Julia had the whole bounce house to herself. She loved that. Valerie was with us this week and she was all over the place. She immediately figured out she could crawl through the block tunnel.
Julia ran into a little friend from school at ECDC and they squealed with excitement to see each other.
Julia always wants to get the ball in the basketball basket. Of course it is way to high. But they have a really cool set up where there are different levels. She has been trying for weeks to get it in the second hole and today she had success.
I could not get Valerie off this little sit and spin. She would not take my help. She worked and worked until she figured out how to make it work.
I love these days so much. I am the luckiest grandma ever.

Burgers Lake

We went to Burgers Lake today. If you have not been you need to check it out. It was so much fun. The water was clean and clear. The sand was beautiful. It was a great family day.
Our newest little swimmer without her floaties. She has gotten so brave and loves being in the water.
Here is our little Fourth of July baby. She is just barely walking so she struggled to get around but she did great.
Here is Angela with 3 year old Julia. Angela planned our day. She remembered everything all the way down to floats and sand toys.

Here is Renee with 14 month old Valerie.

Julia and Valerie loved playing in the sand. It was like a trip to the beach but close to home.

There are a lot of waterfalls, slides, diving boards and even a trapeze. Here Julia got brave enough to let her Dad, Jeff, take her under the waterfall.

Valerie liked her little eating set up we brought for her. She is the sweetest baby.

Happy Fourth of July

We went to Lake Grapevine for 4th of July. We decorated the wagon and the girls loved their ride. We walked down to the lake. Julia played soccer and showed off her new light up shoes. Valerie played around on the blanket and loved just watching everything going on around her. Julia, Angela and Jeff.
Chris, Valerie and Renee.
Watching fireworks.

Kidsville Park

Today we went to Kidsville Park in Colleyville. It is an all wooden structure with lots of ups and downs. Julia immediately said this looks like a castle and it really does. So of course we had to play Cinderella. Valerie loves the swing. She also wanted to climb, walk, crawl everywhere all by herself. They both loved it.
Snack time. Poor Valerie. The sun was in her eyes. It is so hard to get both of them to sit still, not move, sit close together and smile at the same time.

Snickerdoodles

We made Snickerdoodle cookies today. She was the Princess (hence the tiara) and I was the Fairy Godmother. Valerie was the Prince but she was sleeping.

Our Daily Walk

We go for walks a lot. Valerie loves riding in her wagon. Just don't stop for any reason or she fusses for you to keep moving. Julia rides her pink tricycle and looks for cats.
